It’s not fair!

I am 15 years old. I was diagnosed in first grade. I have tried to keep it a secret because I know that if any one found out, they would make fun of me. My daughter, now 6, was also diagnosed in first grade. I understand how you feel, especially being a teen. When I tell people that my daughter was diagnosed with ADHD, they look at me like I'm crazy. What you have to realize is that many, many people are uneducated about ADHD. I am sure you are a wonderful person who has many talents that others envy. You are obviously a great student and I am sure that you are going to graduate with great success. Perhaps even Valedictorian? I just want to give you a word of wisdom - as you grow older, it will not matter what others think about you or say about you - I am 33 now and have learned this over many years. The person that makes fun of you now with be envious of your future success - trust me. Keep up the good work, keep your head up, and continue to live life to the fullest. Words mean nothing. Continue your actions in a positive manner and shrug your shoulder at those who judge you for your "special" qualities. Peace.
