misdiagnosed all my life

Post a new topicby zimbra on Wed Aug 12, 2009 11:10 am

I have been hospitalized twice. Each time they thought I was bipolar. But I NEVER feel good. I How can I be bipolar if I am always in pain, and never feel good? Another Dr thought I was ADHD I agree with this.

But I have sensations of pain at all times. It's very difficult to manage. It FEELS physical. But I had an MRI and there were no physical abnormalities.

Often the pain manifests in my eyes. It feels at times like my eyes are BURNING. Others it is deep in my inner ear. I am having difficulty coping.

I really think that the only thing that will help me is an MSI study - MRI - fMRI and MEG.

But my Neurologist has never even HEARD of the MEG. I told her about it and right off the cuff she said "You don't need that!!!". How can she know this if she never heard of it? I found this stance arrogant and not helpful.

I suffer SEVERE tinnitus for about 20 years. I believe this may be the genesis of the anxiety which manifests as physical sensation.

How can I get my Dr to take the MEG and my request for an MSI study seriously???
