To live a prisoner
is not to live at all
a practice in futiliy
like balancing on a ball

trapped in ones own body
as in a horrible nightmare
only this time you wake up
and your dream is still there

how can you cope
now that is the question
to exist in this world
with only your reflection

for trapped are you
in this quagmatic disease
that brings you and your family
desperately to their knees

I saw a man
who did things just right
who never backed down
and fought a good fight

through all this he lived
if you think what life is
it is your home your passion
your family and friends

and so he lived his life
the best that he could
and we love him for that
as he knew we would

because all those precious moments
and happy memories
are what will later
raise your family off their knees

and when they think of you
they will smile
and know that you loved them
all the while.
