When someone is told they have ALS and they have 2 years to live, is that prognosis assuming that they won't have a respirator, and people to help them eat?

If that includes these measures, then this prognosis is one of the worst I have ever heard of.

Unfortunately, the prognosis for a meaningful quality of life with ALS is quite poor. Most individuals do not opt to be placed on a respirator and be fed by a feeding tube long-term. However, the prognosis until severe deterioration can vary.
