I am sorry to hear that you have been diagnosed with ALS. The fasiculations do represent denervation (lack of the motor neurons controling the muscles).

Question: I've been doing a lot of reading on ALS. I notice the symtoms tend to be different from person to person. But was wondering how severe a muscle twitch can be until it's a concern? For example: On two differnet occasions in the past few weeks I have had one situation where my leg twitched for about 5 minutes and then just stopped and then had a similar thing happen with my thumb. It seems to happen like after extreme use of the particular muscle. Example: Leg Twitch occured an hour of so after an intense Leg Work-Out with Weights at the gym. The thumb inccident occurred after heavy use of a Lawn Edger. I would make an appointment to see my PCP, but am the kind of person who worries about everything and will probably just be told it's nothing to worry about, but is it?????? Help!!!!!!!!1
