Are these the signs?

Post a new topicby MyLittleCody120 on Mon Apr 13, 2009 12:24 am

My son is 3 years old. He does not speak a lot when he is around other people. When I go to drop him off at school or when I leave for work he becomes EXTREMELY violent, kicking and hitting people or throwing himself against the door. When he is at school he does not ever play with the other children, he is always in a corner by himself and if another child comes up to him, he will turn away. He is absolutely obsessed with Blue's Clues which although it is an educational show to an extent, enough is enough! He will not do ANYTHING else until that show is on the television and when I don't turn it on for him he lies on the floor and will not do anything. He doesn't like to play with the toys that we buy him, he is only interested in Blue's Clues and coloring on everything that he can find. He is a little behind in his development as he is not speaking much and doesn't understand what we are telling him as well as some of the other children in his class. We try to get him to potty train but he is absolutely PETRIFIED of sitting on a potty. I have been told that these can be signs of Asperger's but I am not really sure, his doctor can't see him for three months. I am just trying to get a little insight from those who really know about it. Thanks for any help!

Hi,
Yes I think he could definitly be an ASPIE however see your doc for sure. Advice...be open to the idea that he could come back with or without a diagnosis on the Autism Spectrum, and it may be Classic autism or anywhere else on the spectrum.
