My boyfriends son is autistic and I am having a hard time with watching him during the day. If I punish him for doing something wrong he screams HELP ME! HELP ME! running around the house and won't let me put him in time out. He has pushed and kicked me. He is very strong and doesn't know his own strength. He has hurt my two year old three times in one week. I also have a son with special needs so I am more patient and understanding but I feel a lot of his sneakiness and other things that he gets in trouble for is not his autism He is very sneaky and is getting worse. He knows that he is doing something wrong cause when I look over at him he covers his ears and I go look and there he is doing something he shouldn't. He is doing good in school but behaviorally he is getting worse. How do you teach a autistic child right from wrong without him going off or maybe he goes off which has gotten him off time outs by his dad cause he doesn't want to throw him in a tantrum. I would like to get him in a behavioral class and want to take some classes with my boyfriend so we are on the same page. I guess what I am asking is some advice on how to teach him right from wrong and get him to listen and not right when I turn my back to do it again. When I try and talk to him he doesn't give eye contact so I don't know if he is hearing what I am saying. I feel really bad for him and actually want my boyfriend to try medication but that will be his choice. I had my boyfriend make a appointment with a neurologist next week so maybe we can get some help.We have tried the diet already.
