Is there ANY releif out there????

Post a new topicby aursmi on Wed Aug 20, 2008 9:31 pm

I am a 30 yr old woman, highly active and lead a fairly normal life. Within the last 5 years, I have developed muscle spasms and great pain that can go from my shoulder blades, to midspine, to neck. I can almost feel my back tightening and it tightens so much that nothing I do can possibly loosen it. After it has tightened, on comes the throbbing pain, like when you flex your muscles and dont stop. I have tried massages with the pain so great all over in the above stated areas; they usually help only for a couple minutes and then the tightening comes back. I am highly active; I run, do weight training, and stretch nonstop throughout the day. Initially gp doctors were saying that it was my chair at work? I have changed that to an expensive supportive chair recommended by the doctors and that was over a year ago. I have even have lower back support in my car now. I stretch nonstop throughout the day and workout 3-4 times a week. I eat very healthy and I am not obese. I had one gp tell me that I should go see a psychiatrist I do get overwhelmed here and there, but nothing tramatic has happened to cause this...and why now? I have gone through much more stressful things in my life: loss of work, relationships, college. Regardless, it has been about 3 years now with this and I am scared of what this is becoming. I have tried chiros, massages, and gp's and all say there is nothing wrong and there is no reason besides stress for my muscles to be that tight. The end result, I dont want to go anywhere or do anything. I take 6-8 Excedrin Migraine (only over the counter thing that works) to just be normal, and my stomach is all ripped up from it. I now have started sleeping with a cold pack strapped to my back, just to sleep. I refuse to start the heavier drugs withough finding out what the problem is; I cannot be written off with a prescription. I feel like my health has overcome me at 30, and no exercise, relaxation, or stretching can beat this. I have given up on doctors, and their solution is to give me more drugs or talk about my day. I talk all the time and have never been the kind of person to hold anything in, pretty much an open book. (There is no bottled up can inside me waiting to burst out.) Hey Docs, what about finding out what the problem is so that I dont have to take pain pills anymore and I can get back to my previously healthy life? Anyway, it is nice to see that I am not alone and it is not just in my head...

I HAVE ALL THE SYMTOMS THAT YOU HAVE. I AM FEMALE, FOR YEARS I WAS TREATED FOR DEPRESSION ALTHOUGH I DIDN'T TAKE IT FOR LONG. MY DOC SENT ME TO A PAIN CLINIC THEY SENT ME TO DR. PURSER THAT CHECKED MY HORMONES INCLUDING GROTH HORMONE. I WAS IN A CAR ADDIDENT WHEN I WAS 14 I AM NOW 52 I HAVE BEEN IN PAIN MOST MY LIFE BUT THE LAST 3 YEARS THE PAIN HAS GOT A LOT WORSE THE TEST THAT THE DOC DID SHOWED THAT I HAVE DAMAGE TO MY PUTIATRY GLAND WHICH IS IN THE BRAIN AND PRODUCES GROTH HORMONE WE NEED GH TO HEAL AND MORE THE DOC PUT ME ON GROTH HORMONE SHOTS (NORDIFLEX) IT'S EXPENCIVE BUT WORTH IT. THE PAIN IS ABOUT HALF AFTER BEING ON THE SHOT FOR 6 MOS. I DIDN'T HAVE ANY HOPE TILL I MET DR. PURSER . DON'T GIVE UP KEEP LOOKING. IF YOU HAVE HAD ANY HEAD TRAMA AND SOME TIMES IT DOES NOT TAKE A LOT THIS MAY BE SOMETHING THAT MAY HELP YOU MOST GP DON'T KNOW ABOUT THIS OR HOW TO DO THE TESTS IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO CALL DR. PURSER HIS [moderator note: phone number has been removed] THAT IS IN UTAH GOOD LUCK

You may want to look up adult CPT 2 and see if any of this disorder may relate to you. Hope this may help you.

When i first saw my doctor years ago about my back pain and sciatica, they told me to rest for a couple of weeks, ice and heat blah, blah, blah. Well i went back complaining that i was still in pain and she gave me stronger drugs. Nothing was working so i went back again. Don't you know she tells me she will give me stronger drugs but if i still complain of pain then she would put me on the "druggy" list, you know patients that are just searching for drugs. I was appalled, then she sends me to ortho and the nurse there ,after twisting my body in ways it shouldn't go and me crying in pain, tells my doctor that i need to see psych! I was furious!!! I did eventually end up having a discectomy and firing that doctor and reporting her! They think they know it all. Their answer is always drugs, why can't they just fix the problem! Thanks, Betsy

I am reading a book about nutrition and fasting and juicing..It is all making a ton of sense!!! We are all so toxic! I am getting excited about what I am reading and wondering if som much of what is wrong with me can be turned around by something so simple..hmmmm
