suddenly getting Bell’s palsy at 25

I woke up yesterday 9/19/07 and when i was brushing my teeth i noticed my left side of my mouth was not closing. so i smiled in the mirror and the left side did not move. i was very scared. i had worked for dr’s and i knew these symptoms so i went to the ER. they said it was bells palsy and i just have to wait a few weeks for it to go away. does this really “go away”? i am 25 and i do not want to have residuals or get this again. any info is good at this point.
