The pain is just another symptom of Bells Palsy. It will subside. This will be a hard journey for your child but tell her to keep her chin up, it will heal.

I was diagnosed last Monday, and when I woke up Sunday to go to Church I had a lot of pain on my affected side of my face. I don't know if it is a good thing since I haven't been able to feel anything, or a bad thing. I am 28 and trying to deal with this teh best I can, I can't imagine what your daughter is going through at such a young age. I will keep her and your family in my prayers as we both deal with this.

When I got Bell's Paulsy my doctor put me on Prednizone and my husband did a lot of research and found Vitamin B12 also helped with recovery. The B12 is also called Methylcobalamin and he couldn't find it local but found it online at www.lef.org . I was taking three 5mg tablets of vitamin B daily and with the prednizone I made a full recovery. Since I was pregnant when I got Bells Paulsy I was told I had a slim chance of full recovery. I didn't start the Prednizone till after I delivered but did start taking the vitamin B12 right away. Hope this helps and my prayers are with you.

Hi! My son was just diagnosed today with BP and I was shocked. He looks normal so far except he is complaining alot with headaches and pain under his right ear. He cant feel anything on the right side of face from about top of eyes to bottom of chin on that side. He is having dizzy spells too. Dr said that was the common factors of this. He just started this yesterday and I thought it had to do with stress he had on Sunday when his dad (whom I am divorced from) brought him to me for my week and the dad got irrate about an issue with me and got my son upset practically fightened. The Dr said that could have been the on set to this like everyone has chickenpox virus in us and some it triggers the onsets like shingles and other not. I hope he does not worsen but I am trying to pay close attention to him. His speach is som what slurred right now.He said he has a loud buzzing in ear when around loud noises or high pitches.
