I was diagnosed on Sep 13 with BP. Went to ER and was prescribed prednisone and an anti viral. Have taken all the meds, no changes yet. It appears I am somewhat lucky in that I can close my eye on the affected side, but no other muscle tone, can't smile, etc. I started having pain on the affected side yesterday, in front of the ear, lower jaw, along the cheekbone. Don't know if that's good or bad? I did see a physical therapist yesterday who recommended a few exercises to do to try and start strengthening the muscles, hopefully it will help speed recovery. It's scary and frustrating as there doesn't seem to be a lot that you can do except wait, and wait, and wait.... Good luck, hang in there.
