I have suffered the effects of belspalsy 2 years ago,with head ache on rightside of head only & shingles only about size of half dollar coin on right side of neck,no where else, i am paralysed on the right side of my face & deaf in right ear(inner ear was blown out),i had to have my right eye lid stitched shut on corner in order for it to close , it still has a hairline opening to it which i can live with, i still suffer with pain, in my head,around ear,& on my face,the nerves are clanging in my ear (sounds like wind chimes) constantly, the doctors i've gone to here have given up on me, they do not know what to do, is there any thing you can tell me to help with this problem, i also have 4 types of arthritis(fibromyalgia, costchondritis,rhemutoid, ostoarthritis), ruptured disc in my lower back, & 2 very bad knees that the doctors say i'm too young to have replaced(I'm 48), they told me i'd have to wait till i'm in my 50's to get them done, I also bite my paralysed side of mouth alot inside, Is there any hope in getting rid of this pain in head & face??????? It certainly sounds like you have had a hard time and multiple medical problems. There are different medications for neuropathic pain (Amitriptyline, Neurontin, Ultram, Topamax etc) as well as others for arthritis and chronic back pain. If you are not being followed by a neurologist, it might be a good idea. A multidisciplinary approach would be good for the fibromyalgia as well, combining both medications and non-medication treatment.
