Post a new topicby JohnDoe702 on Thu Jan 08, 2009 1:42 am

Greetings,

I first want to say thank you to everyone out there who has posted their stories about Bell's Palsy It gives me relief to know that I'm not alone.

Information:
-Age: 27 years old
-Height: 5'7"
-Weight: 150 lbs
-Blood Pressure: normal
-CAT Scan (head): normal (11-08-08)
-Allergies (nature, dust, pollen, insects. etc.)

Symptoms History:

(08-17-07) -Went to sleep w/ a mild neck pain on the right side. Woke up w/ the same neck pain, plus a severe case of dizziness and slight loss of hearing. Saw a physician, had no signs of infections in the nose or ear, but was diagnosis with severe case of allergies and possible inner ear infection. Treatment: Amoxi-clav/Mucinex/Nasal spray/ear drops. Symptoms lasted for 7 days.

(08-14-08) -Same symptoms w/ same treatment. Symptoms lasted for 7 days.

(01-03-09) -Same symptoms w/ a more severe loss of hearing and a numbness of the right-side of tongue and ear lobes. Foods tastes either very sweet or salty on the affected side of tongue. No treatment yet.

(1-6-09) Upon waking, I proceed to brush my teeth and discovered that my right-side facial control was extremely hindered. Within 1 hour I went to urgent care and was diagnosis w/ Bell Palsy. Treatment: Prednisone 20mg 3td (also inquiring if I can be prescribed acyclovir)

(1-7-09) Still no signs of facial movement.

(1-7-09) Still no signs of facial movement.

(1-8-09) Went back to urgent care and requested to be placed on acyclovir, which the doctor agreed that it would help, even though the first doctor didn't see it the same. After a good 15 minutes of discussing with the doctor, I was basically advise to be patient and wait.

(1-9-09) Just woke up and still signs of improvement.
