poss breast cancer

Post a new topicby wrighty500 on Fri Dec 21, 2007 5:33 pm

My left breast seemed swollen and had occasional itching so went on internet and decided to go and see the gp. He advised that he thought that all was OK (he couldnt find any lumps) but referred me to the Consultant at the local hospital for second opinion. Went to see him and he examined me and took a needle biopsy. He stated that he felt he was 95% sure that the thickening of the breast was benign but he wanted to wait for results of needle biospy and referred me for a mammogram. Because of Christmas holidays I cant go for another week. I am out of my mind with worry. The Consultant is one of the best and I feel that he woudnt have said I am 95% sure but I have this nagging doubt that I may be one of the 5%. Any views on this diagnosis
