Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

I have a tingling sensation in my thumb and up to my elbow when I run my finger across my thumb and or arm. It is my left hand. I am left handed and use the computer mouse with that hand. My husband thinks it all has to do with my being on the computer a lot. There is no pain, or at least extremely mild which I don't even consider. Just a tingling sensation from my thumb up to my forearm. No involvement or my index or middle finger. The nerve is in that soft area between the thumb and first finger. If I trail my finger over it, it tingles all the way up to my elbow. Sometimes I think it goes beyond. Is this carpal tunnel? Or, something else?
