Good Doc Needed in California, USA

Post a new topicby wclawyer on Fri Jun 06, 2008 4:59 pm

I am looking for a doctor in California to serve as an expert on this disorder. I am finding that most neurologists in my area, even so-called neuromuscular specialists, are not all that familiar with CMT Any suggestions? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I found my neurologist by contacting my local MDA office. I was put in touch with my current doctor who is an MDA specialist on CMT. Most people including doctors know very little about CMT - I for one who like to see this change.

I hope this helps!

The MDA is a great start in looking for a CMT doctor.

http://www.mda.org/

Another place you can look is at the CMT A (Association).

http://www.charcot-marie-tooth.org/

They have an updated list of CMT doctors under their Resources link (on the left) on the main page.

Hope you have found help by now..
