Highest Chronic Pain AwardOn July 2, 2009, one of the highest awards ever given for chronic pain and fibromyalgia syndrome was awarded to Singer, Kwinter client Diane Degennaro. Degennaro was awarded $3.5 million in damages and interest, totaling near $4 million, at the Ontario Superior Court of Justice before Justice R. Gray last April in Milton Ontario. This will demonstrate to the insurers, the public and the legal system the severity of this disability and it’s implication on future judgments.
$3.5+ million dollar judgment by Ontario Superior Court Justice R. Gray recognizes the debilitating effect of Fibromyalgia. This latest judgment will set a precedent as it demonstrates powerfully and convincingly the importance and severity of fibromyalgia and chronic pain syndrome as disabilities. Congratulations to the legal team of Singer, Kwinter. There is now hope for restitution for the rest of us who are suffering as a result of an accident.
