Coma

On novembber 6th, 2008, I was involved in a terrible car accident that lead me to the diagnosis of diffused axonal syndrome. I was in an induced coma for almost 4 weeks, then a self induced coma for nearly two weeks. During both of these cycles, I was not aware of the diagnosis or what it meant as far as my welfare and future; however, after reading and talking to doctors and staff that were with me, I have come to understand the seriousness and finality that this condition can mean.
