Bladder Pain, Constipation, Difficulty SwallowingHi,I'm a 46 y/o female w/history of fused scoliosis, degenerative disc disease through entire spine. I am starting to have many other debilitating symptoms in my orgrans and I'm wondering if they could result from damage to nerves along my spinal column. In recent years, my whole life has been about pain reduction. But, now I'm starting to feel as though my vital organs are failing, albeit very slowly. I am constipated always, no matter what I take or do. I have constant pain in my bladder. I feel like I have to pee all the time except for about 5 minutes after I go. I think my bladder is emptying completely. I just feel full even when I only have a few drops in there. Urunalysis is negative for bacteria. IVP shows no stones or mechanical problems. I have a hiatal hernia. But, sometimes my food literally gets stuck in my upper esophagus. I can't swallow it or push it back up. I can't breathe. My husband has had to perform that maneuver on me to pop it out. In recent years, I have developed high blood pressure as well. Can compressed or damaged nerves that feed these organs and systems cause them to not work properly? If so, does this get worse? Can I do anything about it other than treat the symptoms? Also, what is the best kind of doctor for me to see? My GP seems overwhelmed by my many problems. The orthopod can't help me and I guess I'm a constant reminder to him that he isn't God. I think he would rather I not come around at all. My pain management guy is great, but he doesn't treat the causes--just the pain. Is there an internist or neuro magic man out there who could treat my whole body? Help???? Thanks, Joy in Alabama
