Frontal- Temporal Dementia

Post a new topicby Guest on Wed Jun 26, 2002 4:55 pm

My mother was recently diagnosed with Frontal-Temporal Dementia. It is affecting only the left side of her brain. The doctor, although kind to my mother gave her some medicine, but gave us no information. I am trying to find anything about what we can expect in the future and the rate of decline with this condition.

Hopefully you have learned more on this subject. I know I wonder if Dr.'s maybe don't say much because it is such a cruel disease. I was told that it an aggressive form of demetia and that a person with FTD has such a poor quality of life with a life expectancy of 5-10 from being diagnois.
