I have cervical dystonia, and it is a very painful disorder. You have uncontrollable head movements, but you also have alot of pain with muscle spasms. You may also want to consider parkinson's disease.

I developed head tremors about 30 years ago. Like yourself, it took other people to point it out to me. Since then I've developed dystonia as well. Head tremors can exist with or without dystonia (spasmodic torticollis). I take inderol (sp?) for the tremors. Although helpful, it doesn't make them completely disappear. I've been to several doctors and have found that neurologists who specialize in movement disorders are the most knowledgable. They do a much more thorough neurological exam than a general practioner. Www.wemove.org has a list of them. Best of luck.

Different things help different people, but neurontin took away (for 12 years now!) my symptoms of cervical dystonia...mine included horribly winching, tight, very painful muscles. Since neurontin three times a day, nothing! I just don't dare miss my Rx or I know it within a few hours. I hope this or some response from someone else helps you! Never give up.
