Re: kyra’s story….I have had problems on and off for 32 years and I did have some memory loss, all after being sick and off school for a month when I was 12. At the time I was told it was only the "flu". After recently discussing my symtoms to my doctor, she said I most likely had Encephalitis! Although mine was not as severe as your childs, I am left with many questions like you, as to why I was never even tested at time of admission to the hospital where I spent a week in ward care with 10 other boys. It was a horrible month for me and I am now only finding out about this horrible illness and its effects. I wish you and your family all the best. I now have a long road ahead of me as well to put the pieces back together.
