Hi there, I just saw your post today, let me tell you I had 3 disc herniated in my cervicals after a bad car accident, after that I had bad neck pain, arms, shoulders and hands pain, and hands numbness, i tried everthing, chiropractor, physical therapy, epidurals, trigers points, massages, drugs, you name it, I had a first surgery where I had the discs fixed with some kind of needle i was fine for a time but after a few months i started with thw problems again, after a MRI the doc. told me that the disc c4-c5 still herniated, that he couldn't fix it with the first surgery, and told about other surgery ( prestige disc replacement), I was afraid of that surgery but he told me that until I fix that disc I always going to have problems. So I decided to have it and I don't regret it, the post op was fantastic, 2 hours later I was up going to the bathroom, I was out the hospital the next day, I could move my neck the same day i didn't used a collar never, i recovered real fast, in a few weeks the hands, shoulder, arms pain was gone, i only have some numbness, doc said is normal, the neck pain is so much better, I only have some muscle pain when i work too much, but i dont need pain killers anymore and I didnt lose movement in my neck.
This is my experience i hope you find usefull, talk with your doc about the options you have, look for information in the web, if you want go to the page of prestige disc replacement, they have a lot of information about it.
I wish you the best, I know how bad are the days when we have pain.
feel better.
