I have been living with Epilepsy for five years. I was twelve years old when I had my first seizure Months before I had this constant jerking in the morning, which was causing me to drop or break stuff. The Doctors really can’t explain where they are coming from. I am on Trileptal.

If I did my math correct that puts you at 17 now. I had drop seizures as well at one time, they can be very frightful and scarey for you and the ones who are watching you. Mine started if i'm remembering correctly around the age of 15-16 and lasted a couple of years. At that time Felbatal was just coming out on the market and I started using it and that stoped the drop seizures. By 1997 when the VNS came out, I was one of the first to be implanted. Just on April 25th, 2008 I had my third generator replaced and it is suppose to last me 10-12 years. the VNS has dropped my seizure activity by 50-75%. I would recomend it to anyone. The only inconvience is the hoarsness you get while the generator is going off but it is well worth dealing the hoarsness that the seizures. Hopefully you will grow out of your drop seizures like it is a possibility I did say the neurologists, at least part of the reason. Don't lose hope. I know it's frustrating I been dealing with it since I was 13 and I'm now 39, It will get easier.
