Grand Mal Seizure

Post a new topicby livingwith on Mon Sep 24, 2007 11:22 am

I was at work on Friday and was getting hungry. I drove to Burger King to get lunch. When I went to look at the menu it was all running together,so I shook my head to look again and it was still happening. I turned around to see if anyone was behind me and started to fall. I said help and that’s all I remember. The next thing I knew I was in an ambulance. I’ve never had this happen before so I only know what they told me happened.

Was this your first seizure? the last couple of seizures I had, I experienced what I would call a feeling of being hypoglycemic. I'm told that you have to be REALLY hypoglycemic to cause a seizure ( which I wasn't ), but I ate candy which did NO good and a seizure followed. On several following other occasions, it started with that feeling .The next time I had on hand was pistachio nuts and I was able to rest and stand off the seizure. On several following occasions I've remembered these incidents and chowed on cashews or salted nuts. I now keep small bags of salted nuts in my purse & car. I am not saying this is a cure or alternative or anything. I just made a correlation between your hunger occurring near a seizure & my hypoglycemic feeling & my seizures.
