Radha, first thing for you to do is to NOT blame yourself for any of this. I have both epileptic and non-epileptic seizures. Both, especially non-epileptic, are brought on by stress (for me it is on-going stress, not just a moment of stress/anger). I have dislocated both shoulders, fallen and received stitches in my leg and over my eye, gotten too many large bumps and bruises to count. Contrary to what some doctors say, though I have these non-epileptic seizures (NES), I have no symptoms of any neurologic disorder (ie., depression, bi-polar, etc...). My neuro doc tells me that NES is my body's way of dealing with stress. Keeping it all bottled up inside and finally reaching what I call a boiling point and finally exploding (seizure). There is a stigma that goes with any seizure disorder and many people think that it is still "a witches disease" and the person with seizures can bring them on at will. Your family needs to understand what a seizure (any kind of seizure) is and support you. There are videos that they can watch that could truly help them understand what you are going thru. Make sure that the doctor you go to specializes in epilepsy not just any neuro doc. get other opinions as well. good luck Pat
