I work in an orphanage in Eastern Europe. I don't give medical care, but the children I work with are quite ill. One of the children has seizures I don't know what type. But following a seizure, I am told that I cannot hold the child or even touch him for several hours. I am told that even a touch may stimulate another seizure Is this right? Is this how westerners care for children following a seizure -- by leaving the child completely alone for hours? Can someone direct me to some simple literature about how to care for children following a seizure? I don't know how I can implement change at the orphanage, but I think the starting place for me is to be properly informed. Maybe the protocol at the orphanage is absolutely right, but I just want to know for sure.
