Length of seizures

Post a new topicby Susumarie on Sun Jun 14, 2009 1:01 am

Another eye-rolling I have gotten from my neurologist is the apparent length of my episodes, although, with the memory loss figured in, don't know if the "length" is as long as it might seem, or I just don't remember the time period. When I have the "partial" seizures, where I don't lose conciousness or complete awareness, they are definitely w/i the normal time span, couple of minutes. However, when I go all the way out, I don't know if I just have multiple seizures or abnormally long -- again, my neuro rolls his eyes and discounts. My last episode, I was in front of a group where one's mother has epilepsy, so he recognized what was going on. I basically lost all awareness and didn't respond to anyone. He laid me down so I wouldn't hurt myself, but said I was out for 20 minutes -- I would open my eyes on and off, but then I was definitely out. Paramedics took me away, so don't know what went on from there. Since I opened my eyes, then went back out, maybe that would translate to multiple seizures
So, after all this rattling on, is there anyone out there that has longer than "normal" seizures?
