Is there any connection between epilepsy and peripheral neuropathy?

The short answer is no.

Epilepsy involves discharges of the brain cells leading to a myriad of symptoms, including changes in the level of consciousness and shaking activity. Peripheral polyneuropathy is a generic term meaning damage to the nerves in the peripheral, that is outside of the spinal cord and brain in the limbs (hands and feet). The causes can sometimes overlap such as diabetes leading to stroke and seizures or damage to the nerves. Medications are also common to treat both conditions. Examples include Lyrica, Topamax, Neurontin and Trileptal. If someone is bedridden and happens to have seizures the debilitated state can lead to compression of nerves but that is an extreme case.
