Hiding My Hands All Those YearsI am 54 and have been living alone with essential tremor until right now.
The first time I noticed it was while doing a paint-by-number picture when I was about 6 years old. Re: Hiding My Hands All Those YearsThank you for sharing! I'm 51 and have just returned to grad school and find that the tremors have increased....but for me it is so intermittent...speaking is an issue, but trying to write in front of others is usually a nightmare...I take as many online courses as I can. And I want to be an elementary teacher...how will I write on the board....depressing really.
Re: Hiding My Hands All Those YearsI read your letter and I felt like I was reading my own story of living with ET. I recently began taking Effexor and my tremors are much worse. Often I've had trouble with meds and ET, and have had to take care of my ET first. I find that none of the meds available treat my ET with any success, except, one. Inderol, however, I have asthma and after several trips to the emergency room. I've decided I'd rather shake than not be able to breathe.
I'm seeing a new neurologist this coming Monday, I hope that he has something worthwhile to say. Thank You for sharing your story. If anyone as any suggestions re; meds for ET please respond.
