Anybody else tired of this problem?I've been shaking since I can remember. I'm now 24 yrs old. Everyday someone asks me "why you shaking". Normally I say I have essential tremor then brush it off, but the other day I must of been asked 20 times. Finally one person asked me again and I almost snapped. I kinda yelled a little and felt really bad. But i'm getting tired of it. I've tried endurol but that did absolutely nothing. I don't mind taking medication but I also don't want it to change my mentality. Who wants to walk around like a zombie.
Thanks for lettin me vent lol

Re: Anybody else tired of this problem?Bracus,
Is your doctor a neurologist or a movement disorder specialist? If not, I would advise going to see one. (preferably a movement disorder specialist) They are more up on treatments for essential tremors than medical doctors. Sometimes it take a while to find the best one(s) for you. Not everyone is the same. I am on Primadone. My neurologist started me on Klonopin, but I weaned myself off and went back on my Primadone. Klonopin didn't help my tremors. It just made me sleep all the time. I recently had a horrible migraine headache with facial numbness and I was started on Topamax. It is supposed to help in the prevention of migraines and can help tremors. Haven't seen any change in my tremors yet. I am still on my Primadone. Topamax makes me sleepy, but I will do just about anything to keep from having another migraine like I had Sunday (spent 2 days in the hospital getting narcotics and being tested to make sure that I hadn't had a stroke or TIA). I have had migraines since I was a teenager and never had one like this one. I was really scared. lilred (Helen)

Re: Anybody else tired of this problem?Deb,
I have to be nosey because I worked in a cardiac cath lab for 16 years before i had to quit work. Is your problem related to your Inderal and slow heart rate? I know what you mean by when it rains it pours. I started having problems with the Topamax that my doctor started me on for my migraines. So I am off of that now. I am only on my Primadone. I have pain pills that help if I take them before my headaches get too bad. I am having knee replacement surgery on April 27th. I have already had my left knee done 5 years ago and I put the right on off as long as I could. (I remember what it was like 5 years ago and am not looking foreward to going through that again, but it is the only thing that will stop the continuous pain.) Pain and not sleeping does not help depression. When I was in the hospital for my migraines, my oxygen saturation would go down in the 80's when I was asleep. So now I have to be tested for sleep apnea. Enough complaining. I need to get busy and do my exercises that I need to do before surgery. I received a letter from the insurance company that covers most of my car payment while I off on disability asking if I was thinking about going to a technical school for retraining. I thought about that for a while and wondered how much a mattress tester made. Then I wondered if I could make it as a bobble head car ornament. (That one would take an awfully big dash board.) Any one else out there have any suggestions for retraining? lilred (Helen)
