ET Meds

Post a new topicby jmar on Mon Mar 02, 2009 6:46 pm

Has anyone found any meds that are helping more than others? I Went to the VA today & they are now going to put me on Clonidine or I think that what he called it. Also told me to try some wine nightly for a week or so. The ET is now affecting my head & speech to some degree. Our oldest daughter's head shakes alot with stress really hard on her. Also has anyone gotten disability from ET alone?

Hi,
I was diagnosed with ET over a year ago, but have had it most of my life. It is herititary. My neurologist put me on Mysoline and the tremors stay at bay as long as I take as directed. To me this was a miricle drug. Before being diagnosed, I thought I would go crazy because the tremors were so bad in my left arm and hand that it was imposible to hold or pick up anything, even a paper plate without dropping it.

Mention this medication to your doctor and see if he would try this medication on you. Good luck.
