I suffered with many different symptoms for five years. They ranged from chronic insomnia, back and neck pain, skin rashes, sensitivity to light and cleaning product odors, muscle pain (primarily in my biceps and thighs) and the ever maddening muscle twitching!!!
I am a 39 year old mother of two wonderful sons and I have a very loving understanding husband. Before my first fibro flare up which includes at times debilitating fatigue, I was an energetic person involved in a ladies softbal...Read the full article

We have been looking on the Internet for information on the symptoms currently being experienced by my son Roy. I am writing on his behalf as he doesn't have speech and has problems with his sight.
I have come across your posting and find it very interesting and very similar to what Roy is experiencing, especially the muscle spasms and sensations in his legs and upper body. Roy also experiences headaches and sensitivity to light and odors.

I intent to bring this information back to a doctor who has encouraged me in the past to go on the Internet to find out more information. Like you, I have had Roy to numerous doctors who gave the impression I was being too dramatic or just plain silly.

Do you have any other tips or information you can give us on living with this syndrome as he is extremely difficult to cope with at the moment.

Thanking you in advance and thank you for sharing your story - it is a comfort to know that others are experiencing similar symptoms.

Hi, I'm Pikwick. I do not have fibromyalgia, but rather neuropathy, which is somewhat similar that it has no cure and pain is the main outcome. At 58 years old, very difficult to spend up until 1PM trying to get the pain under control to be able to function for 5-7 hours somewhat normal as long as I stay off my feet.
It makes me feel better just to drop a line like this to someone in a similar condition. It is hard to find things to keep a positive attitude. Fortunately, I started a business 25 years ago and have 3 children and 16 other quality folks working so I am able to stay at home and try to work with the pain problems. I also was able to enjoy my kids while they wrere young and now enjoy watching them learn and grow as business people. Hang in there and do your best. Sincerely, Pikwick.
