Fibromyalgia

Post a new topicby DonnaGrey on Tue Feb 10, 2009 12:26 pm

This is my first time to the forum. I really need some help with this. About a year ago, I began having severe sinus infections and have strep throat seven times. Since this all started, I began having terrible pain in both legs and it has radiated over all my body. I was advised that it was Fibromyalgia. The bones in my ankles and feet are so sore, it hurts to even step on them. My active life has become one of half days if that. I am very tired all the time and continuously keep either a sore throat or sinus infection. When lying in bed, I lay there until I fall asleep wondering if the pain will ever stop. It is non stop 24/7. There are times when it is better but never gone. I told my doctor I did not know what it was because I had never had it and could not describe it. I am going to see a specialist soon. Even my fingers are so sore that it hurts to type or write a lot. My neck and back is even sore. I have just recently retired early thinking this may help. Does all this sound normal for a fibro patient. Is there a diet to help. I don't like medicine, but I do consider herbs as an alternative. I used to walk 5 miles a day but now just walking in the house is about it. I am just really lost and actually depressed because I do not know what to do anymore. The only thing I know is this all started after I began to having these infections a year ago. Please give me any advice that you have to assure me of what I need to do or not do as far as activities and diet. Thank you. DonnaGrey

What kind of specialist are you going to see? Have you seen an ear nose and throat person? Just to rule out anything there. Fibro often comes on after something stressful, like a long illness or a lot of stress.

Fibro specialist. No I have not seen an ENT. They said the next time I had strep they would send me to one. I am really wondering if this is not connected some how. It is just so strange that it came on after several bouts. Thank you for responding. I really need all the help and ideas that I can get. DG
