What does it feel like?

Post a new topicby Shianne on Sat Mar 07, 2009 7:11 pm

Hi, I'm new here. I have RSD but my doc thinks that I also have fibromyalgia. I don't agree so I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what fibromyalgia feels like. All I know is pain. What exactly does the pain feel like? What are the other symptoms?

I feel like someone beat me with a hammer. I have the worst headache in my life. I don't want to go anywhere or do anything but I have to because I have three kids. I can't handle repetative motions or noise. I wish I could curle up and go to sleep forever. Does this sound like it?

Thanks. I'm only 30 years old. I have a 10, 9, and 2 year old. My problems did not start until 6 months after my youngest was born. My husband has recently stopped working days and gone to the night shift so he is here to help. This thing has happened so fast it changes everything. Even with the best intentions people just don't understand. Some think I should push myself to do more as if this is mind over matter. I am already pushing myself as far as I can go. If I push myself any harder I am not going to be a very nice person and I don't want my kids to think of me as a miserable person. My two year old is the sweetest little thing in the world. She keeps me smiling. If it wasn't for my kids I probably would never get out of bed.

all of us have to find a reason to keep going and your is your family.I am just now getting my mom to understand.People just are not going to understand the way we do because they are not going through this.you no there are times i hurt so bad i cant belive it and when i have a good day i cant belive i could hurt so bad.i mean i cant remember how bad i hurt it was beyond belivef so you dont make them understand the hope is is that they no you are dealing wiyh a bad sitution and that you have a hlole lot of bad days and once in a while {ONCE IN A GREAT WHILE ] you have a good day and as time goes by and they see you enough they will start to no what your going through.i no its tuff this way but it will work.now you need to slow down and start figure out how far you can push your self with out paying for it for the next week this is all about moderation.oh ya you have kids it time for them to have chores {THINGS TO DO } my memory is not good you will come to understand this in time doea you husband understand or not if he does great if he doesnt it time for him to the best he can for right now.mabey he dont because it requires more from him and hes used to the old way .well i hope some of this is helpful to you your going to be ok let me no how you are doing ok GOD BLESS YOUR IN OUR PRAYERS RALPH AND KRISTI PELKEY

The pain is different for me all the time. Some days, just my muscles ache, like I have the flu. Other days, usually cold, rainy ones, my nerves hurt. And by that, I mean that I have almost like a burning sensation that comes through all the way to my skin. My clothes even hurt touching my skin. On other days my joints hurt. Then, on my worst days, I get all of that together! And this is from head to toe. Hope that helps. And, I really hope you don't have Fibro. Good luck!

I had another Dr. diagnose me with RSD. This was someone hired by the court. But agian he only adressed my arm not the rest of me in his report. I'm sick of this. The neurologist I saw did the same thing. Why? Do they think I'm lying about the rest of my body? So anyway my PCP is still sending me to a reumatologist to check for fibro. I've had enough of Drs. Right now I'm just tring to do whatever I can to feel better. I am in the process of quitting smoking. Wish me luck!

Hey Shianne! Good luck quitting smoking. I really need to quit too. I think the rheumetologist may be able to help you. My rhem. is the one who diagnosed and is treating me. I think they are really the specialists who know the most about Fibro. You could have RSD, but if your pain is widespread, you could also have Fibro. Lyrica, a newish FDA approved Fibro drug has helped my nerve pain some. I'm also on the Fentanyl patch and Percocet, which help my muscle and joint pain. Good luck, and let me know if I can offer anything useful!
