Hi there, I had GBS and was admitted to the hospital on April 7th 2008. I am only 25 years old. I got weaker over a few days to the point where I couldn't walk at all. I was in the hospital for 3 weeks until I could eat, shower, etc. and then I went home for the rest of my recovery.

Now I am back at work (for 3 weeks already) and doing all the activities I used to do- thank goodness. It was hard, but I noticed improvements almost daily. I lost the use of my arms and legs- the weirdest thing. But your boyfriend is young and as long as he remains healthy he should expect a recovery. It is hard at the time- but tell him to keep up the physio!
