Kenna’s story of GBS at age 4 1/2In the Spring of 2005, our daughter Makenna (we call her Kenna) was admitted to the hospital after a doctor visit where her doctor was unable to find her reflexes. She was complaining of ‘tired legs’ I did not think she needed to be admitted to the hospital…I was wrong. By the time she got to the hospital (about an hour later), she could no longer walk without assistance. By the end of the day, she was completely paralyzed. Re: Kenna’s story of GBS at age 4 1/2My niece started with some odd symptoms after febral seizures when she was 11 months old. At age 3 she developed pneumonia which left her unable to walk & a lazy eye. She has had 3 other episodes of pneumonia and is now age 11...all which have left her with unexplained neurological symptoms. At this point she has a "slap" to her walk & has poor bladder control & function. They have been to several of the supposedly "top" neurologist & immuniologists...all who say "there is nothing wrong with her...we have no answers"...how did you get your diagnosis, where did you go...what did they do to get the diagnosis & could you elaborate on any signs & symptoms experienced by your child?? This has been at least 9 years of h*** for my sister with NO answers & NO sympathy whatsoever by the medical profession. They have been to Minnesota down in the twin cities 3 times....
Re: Kenna’s story of GBS at age 4 1/2I'm not very familiar with GBS... but if you're talking about MN, instead of going down to the Twin Cities, why not make the trip a little farther and go down to Rochester and the Mayo Clinic? It's internationally known for having some of the top medical practitioners and equipment. I'd give it a shot. Let us know what's going on.
