Re: Pending Guillain Barre - looks severe and scary.Hello there
I am so sorry to hear of your mother's plight. I had GBS seven months ago, but not nearly as severely as your Mom, and I have recovered virtually completely, the only remaining problem are some numbness in my fingers and toes and some days when I don't feel too strong. Some other people who may respond to your post may be able to tell you how they recovered, but from what I can derive, no case is the same as another. And as you have said, even the doctors vary in their opinions. So even comparing your Mom's case to another persons is not going to indicate that she will be the same. Like the Neurologist said, no-one know what damage has been done. All you can do is follow the advice of the doctors, support your Mom in every way you can - this disease is hell to go through. And try to have patience - only time will tell. Sorry, I cannot help any further.
