Confused!

Post a new topicby shallowdee on Sun May 18, 2008 11:50 am

My 23 year old stepson was admitted into the hospital a few weeks ago because his organs were not functioning properly and were actually losing their ability to function re: shutting down. We are talking about his pancreas and his gall bladder. BUT they thought he had mono, lymphoma, etc. All these test came back negative, so now they think it could Guillain-Barre His lymph nodes were so huge a few weeks before things nearly stopped working on him. Spleen as well. BUT there is no paralized areas? Can this disease paralize internal organs without paralizing on the outside like arms, legs, etc? Am I understanding this disease comes on after an acute infection? His lymph nodes and swelling could have been from another disorder then triggered this?
