gullian barre syndromeMy aunt has been diagnosed with Gullian-Barre syndrome. She is 72 years old. She is in a nursing home, and other than a globulin treatment, she hasn't received any other treatments, and from what we understand, the nurses and doctors there know very little about treating the disease. My mother has tried to talk to the doctor in charge of her (from what we understand, he hasn't been checking up on her at all) to get her transferred to a rehabilitation center, where she could get better treatment, and counseling. He won't do it. Please, can you offer any suggestions on what action we can take to get her to where she can receive the proper treatment? She is having a difficult time and has already expressed that she wants to "give up". Please help us!
Re: gullian barre syndromeI am sorry to hear that your aunt is ill. It sounds like she has received good acute care treatment with the immunoglobulin, and that a full course of rehabilitation will be very helpful.
