How long after IVIG?

Post a new topicby ldestini947 on Wed Jan 07, 2009 10:43 pm

This is my 4th week into this. I started my IVIG last Friday. Initially, my Dr. set me up for carpal tunnel surgery. Can anyone tell me how long to feel relief from the IVIG?

I had a total of 7 infusions, I was admitted to the hospital twice the first time was a complete waste of my money and my time-they only gave me 2 infusions and sent me home a week and half went by and I was worse so I went to a different hospital and they gave me five more infusions I was in the hospital for a week and when I went home I was using a walker for 3 days and after that I started doing things on my own, It just depends on the person some like me will get better in a couple of weeks and some it takes years, I hope this helped-

my ivig treatment did not do any good because my doctor waited too long to start it. In order for it to work you have to start it within 2 weeks. Thank you for your reply.

About day four of treatment, I started to notice my spunk coming back. About seven days after the first IVIG, I notice steady increase in abilities. But please be aware that each case of GBS is unique and what works for some many not work for others! Good luck!

I had GBS last year and am still doing IVIG. 2 days a week every month. I really think I will have to get it forever. Like someone else said, every case is different.
