TourettesMy son has had a serious of very minor tics for some time. However over thepast two days he has started jerking his head and shoulders almost continually. He is truning 13 in a few days and I was wondering whether it is unusual for tics to change quickly or if there may be something else going on.
Re: TourettesTics can change in frequency and severity, and can also be affected by things such as stress, medications etc. If there is any change in what you see, or vocalizations, it would be a good idea to have your son seen by a pediatric neurologist.

Re: Re: TourettesThank you so much for your prompt reply. He has had a change in medication for depression and we are seeing his psychiatrist on Wednesday morning. He is affiliated with Children's Hospital in Washington DC and I am going to request a consult with a neurologist.
I have discovered that my son's tics disappear when he uses a tens machine with a low electronic stimulation. Why would that be the case?
