disabiling migraines

Post a new topicby Tame the pain on Fri Jul 18, 2008 9:07 pm

i started having migraines in 2003 after my cervical disc replacement fusion c-5 6 i have been on pain pills, and maxalt ever since.i have a very stressful job mentally and physically i can't survive without the job and am not having any luck getting promoted else where.i have a very good paying job 60k yr without an college degree.almost unheard of.i can't quit i am a single mom with 2 teenage girls and have heavy debts.plus i need the health ins my employer provides which is excellant. So i must try to hang on hopefully if i can another 10 to 12 yrs til i can retire.I think the pain is caused from nerve pain & stress of it all.No Dr. has come out & told me exactly but it seems like the rougher envirorment around me the more migraines i get and the intensity is worse.the only thing that has helped in the past is massages, heat, electrmag treatments along with ultrsound treatments all in the same treatment day 3x a week for at least 3 to 4 months then i'm good for about a year then the symptoms return.only problem is that my ins doesn't cover massage therapy.I've been waking up every night for the last 3 weeks with a full blown migraine the maxalt's been taking it away so i can go to work but this morning it wouldn't take it away, so i missed a day of work. There getting worse & worse lately i am getting very depressed over the situation. Also i hurt all over i swear there's not one area on my body that doesn't hurt if you touch my skin anywhere it feels like pins and needles and my muscles ache everywhere i am tired of the pain. I'm going to the dr. monday need relief anyone feel so much pain 24 / 7
