migraine

Post a new topicby Guest on Thu Sep 19, 2002 2:21 pm

Everytime I get my migraines my neck, spain, and lower back really hurt. My neck is the worst. Even though I take Imatrex for my migraines my neck is still hurting. Should I go see a neurologist or should I just let my MD know about it. I really don't know where to go. My neck pain is getting worse each time. I also noticed that my migraines take to0 long to go away. Imatrex and Maxollat are not working as well as they were at first. Can you please let me know what I should do.

Thank you,

Anna

Some medical doctors are comfortable treating migraine. You might start there, and see a neurologist if the headaches are not under good control. Neck pain, muscle aches and a general poor sense of well-being can accompany migraine. A full exam of your head and neck may be helpful in figuring out waht is going on and in ruling out other problems.

I don't understand how all this could be so normal. I am 30 years old and I've been having these problems since age 18. Right now I'm at the point where I no longer want to feel like this. I get very moody and its affecting my marriage. This pain last about two weeks. It usually occurs before and after my period. My doctor keeps telling me its normal. But how could something like this be so normal. Its just taking my life away. The last couple of months I've been getting migraines when its not even close to my period. If I'm lucky I get to have a whole week without a migraine. So please don't tell me this is normal. Because my body keeps telling me that theres something wrong.
