Response to worried guy: If your girlfriend has been diagnosed with hemifacial spasms, she, and you would benefit from joining the Hemifacial Spasm Association. There is a wealth of information there, including treatments. When you go to the website, you will know by the pictures and descriptions of the members whether she may have hemifacial spasms (of course a physician would have to diagnose her).

What is the technical name of hemi facila spasms blaph something I can't remember. My husband has these and has for 11 yrs. He took botox shot all those yrs and now is having brain surgery Oct. 1 they say the cushion between the nerve is gone. The spasm has moved down his neck and top part of chest. I had the technical name of this but can't find it I only remember it began with a b and I couldn't pronounce it. Please help me

i think you are talking about blepharospasm
p.s. i had the microvascular decompression and it worked wonderfully for me.
no spasms for five years :-)
