I would agree with your statement to take care of yourself. You have to have a support system to be able to make it through this situation. My sister has had two children with Juvenile HD. Her oldest passed away 3 years ago and now we deal with my nephew. He is in the last stage and as a family we support her by allowing her to have time for herself and to help take care of him. It is a long and hard road to watch them go and suffer so long so take care of yourself so you can be there.

Hello Michael. My name is Chandra and I am doing a research essay on Huntington's and how it affects the family of people affected. Before you casually brush this off, this is not just a final project for me. My daughter is 4 and her father and his mother both died from this disease, which as you know means that she could possibly have it as well. I would like to ask you a few questions and hear what you have to say about your exeriance so far with the disease. Please contact me at [moderator note: e-mail address has been removed]
