I don't know your entire situation nor do I have Huntington's but this is what I would do if I was in your shoes. I would speak to your ex-boyfriend and ask him at what age the disease has been affecting his family members as well as get their specific signs & symptoms. I would tell your son he has the disease before he is a teenager or old enough to impregnate a girl. I would also wait until he is old enough to understand the basics of the disease before telling him. Put your son in counseling after you tell him to help him. I would also get counseling for yourself before you take any of my advice because I am in no means an expert. Hopefully there will be medical advances by the time he gets older to help with the disease.

He has several healthy years ahead of him. In the meantime I would do what you can for yourself especially when it comes to getting a quality education and a great job. Being a single mother is not easy. I wish you the best of luck.
