My husband knew he had a 50% chance of inheriting the disease from the age of seven. We married at age 35 and he kept the ravages of the disease to himself. I noticed then, 21 years ago that his foot moved most of the time. I also noticed he did not swing his arms when walking, hiking, ect. So sorry to hear your "Unending Story". It sounds like you desperatly need A Support Group. You seem to be caring alot of unnessary guilt because of husband's HD. There are Nursing Facilities just for HD. They know what they are doing and do it well. Try The Huntington's Lighthouse site. You seem to be experiencing physical and mental pain due to your husband's HD and you should not be at this point in time. One very sad fact to have to remember is that The HD Patient Does Not Feel or Experience Pain, the families, spouse, and children of the HD Patient experience ALL the pain mental and physical. You have done everything humanly possible to help your husband, let someone help you now. God Bless You and Good Luck in seeking the help YOU NEED NOW, if you are to further help him. I have had seven back surgeries, I lost my husband to cancer when I was 29 and he was 34, my two sons were 6 & 9 when he died. I cared for him at home for as long as I physically and mentally could while caring for my children. He died in a Cancer Home after 9 days there. I have know regrets of how it all turned out. I had to learn that seeking help from outside of family is Not Selfish in any way though that is what I did first beleive.
