Huntington's Research

Post a new topicby Guest on Mon Oct 17, 2005 7:45 pm

Hello All!

I am the sister, of twins (not identical) who have Huntington's Disease

This past month, one of the twins past away from pneumonia aspiration problems with his Huntington's Disease

The best information I have come across is an article written by a well reknowned, "Dr. Hoffer" in Life Extension Magazine. It was on mega-vitiman therapy for Huntingtons. His research was originally for Schizophrenia and it was used on some Huntington's Patients with good results. It was mega "E" dosages and "B". . . If I recall properly it was naicin, (which they used a buffered form, to prevent the red flushing)
and B-12. Also Mega "C" was used.

I can't seem to locate the article at the moment but will post more when I locate the article . . . I believe it was in Life Extension Magazine approx. in 2004.

I wouldn't do this therapy without the guidance of a physician, but it seemed to be quite an intense chromosome/indole study that seemed to provide some type of relief!

Unfortunately, I live another state and that makes it very difficult to assist.
I wrote to my brother's care center physician and sent a copy of the article w/SASE (self-addressed stamped envelope)and never received a reply.I will contact George Oyler at John Hopkins University to see what his take is on this.

So far it is the most promising thing I have read as far as cure or treatment.

Hopefully this is some help to individuals suffering with this disease!

The "TWIN'S" Concerned Sister...........
