Huntingtons? My real grandfather died in his 60's of a nerve dissorder. My mon's 1/2 sister started to have mental problems (memeory, talking) in her mid-40's. My mother started to have physical problems in her mid-40s (limp, use of cane, walker, wheele chair) and now in a bed and fed through a needle. She can not really talk, but understands pretty much everything. From what I understand, she is the somewht opposite of my 1/2 aunt. Grandfather's side of family has had other people die of some "nerve" deseases. However, tests were taken (including spinal fluid) and my mom was diagnosed with MS. The symptoms of Huntingtons kinda of fit with my mom, but alot do not. Have 1 brother and 0 sister. Brother is 30 and took test for Hunt, and came back negative. I am 34 and in good health (thanks to God). Our father is in good health with no Hunt. connection. With all this information, could the diagnosis of MS be wrong? My mom is now 55 and has been in her bed for about 4 years. ANY INFO would be helpfull as well as an opionion. Thank you very much
Re: Huntingtons? The clinical symptoms of HD and MS are quite different, and I would suspect that your moms neurologist would have been able to differentiate the two disorders. MRI studies were likely done to help make the diagnosis of MS. You might speak with ehr doctors to get more information.
